Biography
R.B. Higgins was born in County Down in 1943.He is considered one of Northern Ireland's foremost and best selling contemporary landscape painters. With his own unique style of painting, his work has an atmospheric quality of its own. He is singularly honoured by the Belleek Pottery company when they commissioned him to paint 'The Four Seasons' for an edition of collectors plates.
He is the only artist appointed to paint landscapes for this unique porcelain. This particular painting which is an original watercolour, is typical of his style and his unique sense of perspective. It was painted quite recently and depicts a scene near Greyabbey in County Down. His paintings appear in Irish art auctions around the country; he is considered an established name in the Irish art scene and a good investment.
